We often feel the need to change our daily lives to a simpler way of living. The biggest challenge in starting a simplification process in our lives lies in one aspect: it is essential to accept that this is possible. We live in a society overloaded with information and conditioned by standards of what is right or wrong.
In my opinion, a very important attitude is to look carefully and critically at our reality. Some questions might be useful: what kind of people have I met who are truly healthy and satisfied? What lifestyles are effective in satisfying our human needs for health in our bodies and peace of mind? When have I experienced relationship patterns that promote a sense of freedom and nourishment among the people involved in them?
Based on these questions, how can I relate to my own daily life the conclusions that can be learnt through this process?
My experience shows that we can look at our lives in terms of three dimensions: energy, space and time, and relationships. By doing this, it is possible to approach the main challenges we face in our daily lives in terms of possible suffering and self-realisation.
If we know “why” (the motivation) to simplify our daily lives, we can move on to look for “how” to carry out the necessary steps and, after that, we can look for practical tools applicable to our individual reality (methodologies).
I hope and wish to keep in touch with you on this path. Over the next few posts, I’ll share with you my learnings and experiences over the last 20 years on this subject. May you have inspiring days in the meantime, despite and beyond the circumstances
